Pulling out of the downswing :)

October 20, 2007

Well, I’ve still got quite a ways to go but I’ve been putting together some nice nlhe sessions lately. I just finished a quick 450 hand session at 2/4 and made a little under $1k. I thought I played fairly well, although maybe a bit maniacally at times (lol so pretty standard I guess).

Alas I’m still getting kind of crunched at plo, so money-wise I’m not up all that much but I’m having fun all the same. It’s definitely relaxing to play nlhe though after plo – I think at holdem I more or less know what to do 90% of the time, whereas at plo it’s more like 30%. It’s pretty mentally draining to have to really think about every little situation. At 2/4 I have enough of an edge that as long as I’m not running horribly or on psycho tilt I don’t have to try very hard to win.

Let’s see, what else is new… I’m about a third of the way through the second season of Buffy (I know I know, I’m living the life). Holy crap is it ever a sweet show – I’m incredibly sad I never watched it as a kid. Unfortunately I can’t find any free downloads for the second season so I have to buy them at $2 a pop from Amazon. Kind of annoying but the show is definitely worth it.

Oh and last but not least, I may have just scored an absurdly sweet poker/finance opportunity. I don’t want to jinx myself just yet by posting all the details but basically if it works out it would be pretty amazing.
